About Telephone Reservation

  • Telephone reservation can be made for the performances hosted by National Theatre, National Engei Hall, National Noh Theatre, and National Bunraku Theatre.
  • Please choose your seat among the available seats which the operator shows.
  • Telephone reservation is available until the day before the performance day. Please make sure that it is NOT available on the day of the performance.

Reservation Procedure

1. Please specify the venue, name, and date of the event, grade and quantity of seats.
The operator will show some available seats.

2. Please select a method of payment and delivery.
- pay at the box office within 10 days from the booking date
- pay cash on delivery with a handling charge of 1,030yen per order
- pay at a convenience store with a handling charge of 210yen per ticket

3. The telephone operator will confirm your reservation details.
Please note your seat number, payment and delivery due dates and other information.
At the end, the operator will inform your eight-digit order number.
Please be sure to write down this number for future reference.

  • * Please check the telephone number carefully before dialing.
  • * Please understand that we receive a lot of calls and the lines often become very busy on the first day when tickets are put on sale.
  • * There also are a high number of wrong numbers dialed as a result of using the redial button.
    Please be sure that you can hear a dial tone before dialing. Please be careful not to dial a wrong number!
  • * A telephone number that starts with 0570 cannot be accessed by some IP phones etc.
    Please check with your service provider regarding 0570 telephone access.
  • * If connection is not possible, please call 03-3230-3000.
  • * A ticket order will be cancelled if the connection is disrupted before the order is completed (completing the order means receiving the order number). When you use a mobile phone, please be sure to call on a location with good signal quality.
  • * If the performance date is within the next 10 days or presentation of an ID card or other certificate is required for discount, tickets must be received at the box office no later than 30 minutes prior to the opening.
  • * Please check order details carefully; cancellations or any other changes are not allowed after payment.

Box Office Sale

Box offices are located at the National Theatre, National Engei Hall, National Noh Theatre and National Bunraku Theatre.
Business hours: 10:00 - 18:00 (every day except July 1 and the New Year Holidays)

*If the event hosted by the National Theatre of Japan raises the curtain at 18:00 or later, the box office is open untill 30 minutes after the opening of the performance.

Purchasing Tickets

  • Tickets for events hosted by the National Theatre of Japan can be purchased at any box office in any venue of National Theatre of Japan.
  • You can choose your seat with the seating chart which shows the available seats.
  • The box offices often become congested just before the opening curtain. Please be sure to arrive early, as the area may be congested immediately prior to the performance.
  • Tickets can be paid for by cash or credit card. Available credit card: VISA / MASTER / JCB / AMERICAN EXPRESS / DINERS
  • Please be sure of your order details before the payment. After the payment, none of these are acceptable: cancellation or change of ticket and refund of ticket price.
  • Please be sure of the requirement for the discount which can be applied only in the case of the box office sale.

Receiving Tickets

  • You can receive your tickets reserved by telephone or ordered online at any box office in any venue of National Theatre of Japan.
  • Please present your eight-digit order number at box office.
  • Tickets that were reserved online can be issued quickly and easily with the ticket machines at the box office.Tickets can be picked up for the members of Azekura-kai or Bunraku Theatre Tomo-no-kai as early as the date of purchase, and for other customers 72 hours after completing the purchase. As regards the direction for the machine usage, please refer to Automatic Ticketing Service.
  • Please be sure to present your student ID card or papers for disability in order to get your tickets discounted as these applications.
  • Please be sure of requirement for the discount which can be applied only in the case of the box office sale.
  • If you do not receive the tickets by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled.
